To all our fellow Jews, every where;
Below is a letter that our Yishuv-Shilo, has prepared to be sent to as many people as we can in order to help Shilo prepare for any possible eventuality during the coming trying times. As you know, both Muriel & I have been living in our home in Shilo for the past 9 years. The past few months have seen an unbelievable increase in the terrorist attacks on our roads making all attempts at living "normal" lives next to impossible. But we and all of our fellow Shiloites, as well as fellow Jews living in Yehudah, Shomron & Azza, do not plan on leaving....this is OUR HOMELAND & WE WILL NOT BE FORCED OUT !!
We do not know what the future will bring, but we do want to be ready....just in case. Since the Israeli government ( & the Army) have done very little to help us, we are turning to you, to give a HELPING HAND FOR SHILO. Any amount that you, friends or organizations can contribute will be greatly appreciated and will help us defend our homes and the Land of Israel.

HELPING HAND FOR SHILO
As you are no doubt aware, we are in the midst of a critical period, when major events are taking place in Eretz Yisrael. Perhaps reminiscent of 1948, when the future of the State was first established, we are again being called upon to make our stand and declare to the world that the State of Israel is here to stay.
Just like in 1948, Jews in different places face different challenges, and have different opportunities to come to the aid of their people. While in Jerusalem perhaps the ideological battle is what comes to the fore, in places like Hebron and Shilo, there is a high likelihood of an actual physical battle, where residents will be called to stand side-by-side with the Israel Defense Force. The Jews outside of Israel will be called to double duty. On the one hand, they will participate into fight the public relations battle, clearing Israel's good name in the face of Arab propaganda and anti-Semitism, and on the other hand, to help those with significant security needs to prepare themselves for the defense of their communities.
Since Yom Kipur, most of the Shilo Regulars were drafted into emergency reserve duty, manning outposts as much as 10 hours per day. What we found was that, in addition to the difficulty in maintaining enough manpower to keep all the stations occupied, we were pitifully under-equipped to do the job that must be done, if in fact Arafat attempts to make good on his threat to overrun settlements.
We do not expect any one person to cover all our needs, just as no one person here is expected to cover all the posts. But as many settlements are now in need, we are asking and hoping that you will be able to contribute in some significant way to the building of a meaningful defense of Shilo.
Shots have already been fired at Shilo area several times, including at our children's school-bus. Bulletproofing a local vehicle is one of our most pressing needs. The fear of trying to get a woman in labor to a Jerusalem hospital in a vehicle that is unprotected puts this at the top of our list.
