The Community Ambassador Training Course
Presented by: Eitan Eliram & Neil Lazarus
May 2002
Jewish students, educators and community leaders in the Diaspora face many challenges as a result of the growth of terrorism in Israel. On the one hand fewer people are visiting Israel, while on the other, many of us are called upon to explain Israelâ??s policy and often to a hostile audience. To meet this challenge the Department of Jewish Zionist Education of the Jewish Agency in partnership with The Israeli Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has developed a unique program called: Ambassador.
The Community Ambassador Training Course On- line Course
A course entitled "The Community Ambassador Training Course" was developed by a team of Israel Advocacy experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some leading Jewish Educators from the Dept. Of Education at JAFI. Beginning May 12, 2002, the course will be available on a web-based distance learning platform.
The duration of the course is 4 weeks. The time requirement for a participant is approximately 4-6 weekly hours in a-synchronous on line participation and 2-3 more hours on synchronous forums.
The course is geared toward community representatives, students on campuses (18+), members of Youth Movements (15-18), educators and madrichim, schlichim & school representatives as well as interested individuals.
