Bergen County Israel Action
To the Bergen County Jewish Community:
As you are well aware, our brothers in Israel are in need of our help. Israel, as a country, is facing very serious issues. The situation affects all Israelis from the Israeli soldiers fighting on the front lines to the Israeli vendors who are barely able to support their families. We may often ask ourselves, "What can we do for Israel?" "How can we help?" The answer to these questions is simply TAKE ACTION!
A group of individuals representing the synagogues in the Bergen County area met two weeks ago to discuss how, we as a community can help Israel. We devised a system, in the form of a calendar which enables each and every person to do something for Israel every day of the week. After thorough research, we have delineated those tasks that we felt would be most effective. The various tasks address Israel's spiritual, economic and political well being. The performance of these tasks should take no longer than 15 minutes a day. Each and every one of us must take time out of our day and be part of this unified effort to make a difference! As American citizens we must exercise our democratic voices and defend our brothers in Israel. As a community, we are confident that our voices will be heard.
Below are the calendar and the necessary support information to accompany your calendar. We suggest that you hang this calendar in a place where it is easily accessed.
In addition, we felt that certain activities need to be performed on a daily basis. These include:
1. Daily prayer with recitation of extra Tehillim.
2. Buy Israeli products.
Please feel free to share this calendar with friends and family.
We also would urge you to join AIPAC, the pro Israel lobby and NORPAC, New Jersey’s local political action committee.
We hope and pray for good news in the future.
Tizku Lemitzvot!
