"Zionism is a dirty word." "End the Occupation." Slogans like these and other anti-Israel epithets have been scrawled on the buildings and sidewalks of college campuses across America. Posters announcing pro-Israel events get torn down, and discussions of Mideast issues are disrupted, sometimes violently, by Palestinian sympathizers.

It's upsetting. Scary. It's not what we want happening on our college campuses. But it is. That's why the Caravan for Democracy initiative was created.

Caravan for Democracy is there, on college campuses throughout the country:

1. promoting constructive dialogue on issues and empowering students

2. drawing attention to the values shared by the U.S. and Israel

3. encouraging critical thinking on coverage of Israel in the media

4. highlighting Israel's unique role as the sole country in the Middle East with Democratic principles.

Caravan brings prominent English speaking Israelis to U.S. campuses to answer students' questions firsthand, and brief campus faculty and media. And Caravan offers continuous and immediate access to information via its website- http://www.caravanfordemocracy.org - mailings, and position papers written by leading policy makers and analysts from around the world.
