(3/26) OPERATION MATZO MEALS FOR U.S. OVERSEAS TROOPS
Jewish men and women serving in the U.S. military will be able to observe the traditions of Passover next month with help from a new Rockland program. Through Operation Matzo Meals - created last month by employees at the Rockland Jewish Federation - all Jewish personnel serving overseas will be able to have a Seder meal and enough kosher food for Passover to last them through the holiday.
The federation is partnering with the Jewish Welfare Board and Jewish Chaplains Council - a part of the Jewish Community Center Association - for the program. Donations can be accepted in person or by mail at
Rockland Jewish Federation
900 Route 45, Suite 1,
New City, NY 10956,
or by credit card by phone, 845-362-4200 x126,
or at MatzoMeals@aol.com
In addition, the federation is collecting letters and drawings from local children to send to the soldiers along with the food.
